Does anyone know which vendor wil sell me a black plastic distributor cap/ignition sheeld cover for my friends '82 cross fire, CC don't sell those.

You can get one from any GM or Delco dealer under GM #19110935. This cover might not be identical to the original. However, it will SERVICE the application perfectly.

Want one identical to the original? No problem. Just find just about any 1975-82 GM car in a self-serve wrecking yard and you'll have what you seek. This part was WIDELY used on GM cars and is just about as "un-rare" as anything could be.

If you are looking for the black plastic radio noise suppression shield that goes over the distributor then you want GM #14037640, which was discontinued ten years ago. However, Dr. Rebuild shows one under their part #9663312, and Pacific Corvette lists one under the GM part number. No idea if either place actually has one on hand but it's worth a try.

Yes, I think you got it right and I misunderstood the part Twan was asking about. That part is a LOT harder to find than the one I was talking about. It is a Corvette-only piece and only used for a few model years. Dr. Rebuild might actually have it, though as he has quite a bit of NOS stuff laying around.
