    AM-8 Track Radio ID

Have been purging the "Junque" in my garage this weekend and can identify all the oddball radios that are laying around except this one. Not sure where it came from but something in the back of my mind tells me it is C-3 related. Can anybody tell me if this is in fact a Corvette radio and possibly what year, or is it just a generic GM radio?

It is an AM-8 Track - Part #7898500

If it's AM-only + 8 track, it's not a Corvette radio from any year model. All Corvette radios with 8 track were also AM-FM. In fact, I didn't realize they ever offered an AM-only radio with 8 track in any car.

In any event, I can't find that GM #7898500 was ever used in a Corvette. I can tell you that it's about a 1978-released part number.

Thanks Joe. I just went back and checked and it is definitely a Delco AM only + 8 Track, no FM. I think you are right that it would be around the 78 era because I remember having a 78 Plymouth with AM only + 8 Track.

Just didn't want to yard sale or toss this one if it was a Corvette piece. Now it seems it is unusual enough to keep just as a curiousity.

Hey, maybe I can put it on E-bay as "RARE/RARE/RARE" with a million dollar reserve.
