    69 Alarm Relay Bracket Location

Would someone with the UA6 alarm option send me/post a photo or two of their jack compartment showing the location of their alarm relay/flasher bracket? Not sure I have the correct location with my 1969 (August 69 build). I have heard that the exact location moved a bit within the compartment from year to year. True??

    Thanks,

    Craig

Craig, my 72 UA6 alarm relay and flasher mount in the jack box together to the right of the the jack midway up . (this is as your looking in facing the rear window) hope that makes since.I would think there is a provison for the mounting.(i.e bracket)

The location did not change year to year, but did change when the alarm system became standard in 1972. Ed's 1972 will have the relay and flasher bracket closer to the front of the box, under the latch lip, than earlier installations. I don't have a photo of mine, but I am taking it you have no existing holes or brackets on the bottom of your storage compartment. Are you adding UA6?

I would think the AIM would show enough detail for you to figure out the locations, but I am saying that without looking.

        Terry:

I am adding the alarm system, so there are no pre-existing holes. The AIM has some detail, but the best I can tell there is no locating dimension. And without a good drawing, a picture is worth a 1000 words.

It is interesting that between the dozen or so corvette books I have and pictures posted to this discussion board, I cannot find a single photo of the jack compartment showing the alarm relay bracket and its location. There are very few views and options on early C3's I can say this about.

A picture or two sure would be appreciated.

        Thanks all for the help,

        Craig

I have the Illinois Chapter Meet tomorrow. Maybe there will be an early C3 Convertible with UA9 there. It would be easiest to get a picture of a convertible, but lacking that I can take my car apart enough to get you a picture over the next few days, but you will have to be patient. This is a busy time and the 1970 is less than accessible.

The Indiana Chapter Meet is next weekend. Lots of possibilities out there if no one has the required photo in their files.

              Craig,
I think I figured out how to shrink this pic. This is from a Feb 70 car and the compartment has not been restored yet . This was just the second month of production in 70 . Stan

Craig are you installing a new complete factory type wiring harness for your 69's UA6 alarm system?

Re: 69 Alarm Relay Bracket Location

Yes I am; everything seems to have worked out fine except for locating the relay bracket and now Stan's photo will help with this.

Any more items that may not be apparent at first glance?

                    Thanks,

                    Craig

                      Stan,

That's interesting. I have a June '70 car and the relay and flasher don't go in the spot shown in the picture. They don't go where the assembly manual says either (same compartment, but on fiberglass part of the bulkhead). Have you seen other locations in a '70?

That looks like my January 1970 compartment as best I remember it.
