My '62 will fog up the fuel and temp. guage, when the car gets warmed up. In getting this car back on the road, all guages, all wiring and all rubber lines were replaced, including the windshield washer hoses. I was thinking that, these hoses maybe the cause, pulling hot air up from the engine compartment, so I pulled off the vacumn line off of the "T" from manifold to distributer and plugged it all off. All other lines are still attached and the guages are still fogging. I just cannot think of what else could cause this. The engine is remaining clean, oil and water tight, along with the heater assy. I have nearly 2000 miles/2 years on it since everything was rebuilt or replaced. Any ideas?

Re: '62 Guage Fogging
Dave,
The fuel and temp gauges in my 57 do the same thing, fog up then they seem to "dry out" and they are fine.
They seem to do it on a random basis, not every time I drive the car.
Hope all is well.

Re: '62 Guage Fogging
I have never had fogged up fuel/temp gauges in far South TX. Somebody from drier climates please weigh in on their gauges. Do the left side gauges get hotter thru the wires running to them versus the amp/oil? I am not an electrician, but it would seam temp & humidity have a lot to do with it.
