I have gallon cans of Havoline Motor oil by Texaco. On the can it says for API Engine Service Classifications SD SE and CC. Then under that it says formerly API Engine Service Classification MS and DM. My two questions are is this oil still good since it must be 30-40 years old? If it is still good is it compatible to use in a mid-60's V-8 engine?

Re: Havoline Motor Oil
Oil that old is likely to have additive drop out, which will show as a dark brown sludge at the bottom of the container. You could use it for top-off - no more than 20 percent of total oil capacity, but I wouldn't put it in any of my cars. I'd recycle it. A gallon of Walmart's SuperTech 15W-40 CJ-4 is less than ten bucks.
Because of additive drop out, I don't recomend inventorying more than a couple of years supply of engine oil.
