    57 Corvette E-brake switch question.

    Can someone identify this switch?
It will not work on my 57 due to the offset on the bracket being on the wrong side.
I have been told it is not a 55, 56 or 57 passenger car switch.

The one on my '57 Corvette looks exactly like this one and works like it's supposed to.

          Bruce,
If the offset is on the wrong side where the button on the brake rod won't clear, it is for a passenger car not corvette. Been there done that.

            Roy.
Take another look at my pictures.
The offset area on my switch bracket is on the right side when installed.
Because of that when you try to release the e brake the button on the end of the brake rod hits the switch bracket and therefore will not work in a Corvette.

Bruce, Here are pics of a unrestored 57 that belongs to a friend. To me, it looks like yours. ....edit: actually it doesn't look like yours. Yes, the tab sticking out is on the opposite side.??????

                  Roy,

What's that little round pedal at the 2 o'clock position up and to the right of the dimmer switch? Is that the Powerglide clutch?

                    Guys, Thanks for the info.

Does anyone need the switch that I have or know the exact application.

Roy, what is that round pedal coming up through the floor?

He's still sleeping(CA)... Like I said I think it's the Powerglide clutch........maybe it's the starter button, no.....maybe the Wonderbar Radio seek control or maybe the windshield washer pump.

I can't wait till he wakes up.
