Some of you may recall my carburetor flooding problems last year and the nail in the engine this year. I got the car running and decided to tackle the heat soak problem by adding a 68 and up bb heat shield and 2 gauge battery wires. If it ain't broke, don't fix it is what I should have done because something shorted and now it won't start even with a new battery and starter. Of course I exercised extreme caution when doing this, adding electrical tape and zip ties just in case something touched ground (it didn't). Anyhow, here is a picture of when it was running.

Double check the solenoid attachment wires, there is a ground wire (wiper motor and blower fan), that goes with the negative battery terminal to starter bolt. Sometimes it's mistakenly attached to the solenoid with the positive battery terminal.. -

I'll give it a look, thanks. I suspect one of the wires opened up and maybe I should look into a replacement harness.Comment
