68 tripower jet size and needle and seat

I have a 68 L68 tripower, I had the carbs rebuild by a very know company and they put in 110 needle and seat in, and 65 jets in the center carb. The 110 needle failed so we put in a smaller one in(cant remember what size) I am mixing my fuel with half race fuel and half 93. You can smell that it is lean. I went to start last night and it will run for 30 sec and then just dies. I pulled the plugs and it is running lean. It was running good over the weekend, but not 100%. Any suggestion would be helpful. Judging in wk and half and need to get it right.

You can smell leaness???? Correct jets are 66 or 67 depending on altitude where you live. If the motor has backfired, then you probably blew the power valve and it is drowning at idle. Install a 65 PV and a backfire kit, if it wasn't already done.

Make sure you have the correct base gaskets. Standard Holly 2300 gaskets will leave a small space between the manifold and carb at the right rear of the center carb near the PCV hose fitting. You will be able the hear it. You must use gaskets meant for the tri-power.
