    62 body shims

    Need a little extra clearance in the tunnel area for a Tremec 5-speed. What is the downside to using extra body shims to achive this? What would be the extreme lift I could get?

      steering column through the fire wall and bumper braces start to not line up after a 1/2 inch extra shims or so, also unless it's a 61 - 62, exhaust can be an issue, if it's an early car make sure the motor mount stands are as low as possible and drop trans x member as far as possible
