Curious if the spark plug wires were inboard or outboard of the AIR tubes as installed at St. Louis. My car has them inboard as shown in the photo below.
The AIM does not specify, unless one considers no instruction to remove the wires to allow for instillation of the tubes to be instruction to leave them in place. Since there are no insrtuctions to that effect, I assume inboard is proper.
It just strikes me as odd that they would call for the wires to be in direct contact with the very hot AIR tubes. Any comments? What did they do when nonshielded spark plug wires were used? I could not find anything in my 67 AIM re the L88 and AIR
