    Need auto electric shop

    Do any NCRS members know a competent, C2 Corvette knowleable auto electric shop in MS. or AL.(preferrably Tuscaloosa or Birmingham) that can solve charging and electrical systrem problems in my otherwise excellent '67 factory air L79? I live in Columbus, MS. with no dedicated auto electric shop.I've tried all suggestions and had various local people run various tests with no success; so I need a competent shop to work it out.
    Thanks

    Bill, If you could put up some more details on the charging problems, Is the battery just going dead while driving? or is there a problem with it going dead after sitting all night ?what are the electrical system problems, or is the charging system your refering to.there is alot of midyear guys here with the know how to fix your problem or even to help you give it a try.

    The alternator is a easy part to remove as is the regulator, testing can be done by someone who maybe in the business of rebuilding starters and alternators.

        Hello William;
        Also have a '67 L79 w/ C60.
        Common problem, especially on A/C C2 Corvettes, sometime in their life someone touches the ground wire at the starter(large black w/ 1/2" wire end) to the positive terminal on the starter.
        This causes the wires in the starter harness to melt together causing a myriad of electrical problems. Sometimes off & on. Pun intended.

        Don't know if this helps.
        First place we would look.
