I recently noticed I'm missing the bracket on the rear of my 70 Vette. I've tried several parts places and nobody sells it. Does anyone have one or know of someplace it can get it. It's a small bracket that normally comes with the wiring harness. Call Rex at 765-603-6820

Re: 70 Alternator bracket
He won't know the PN since it was an integral part of the wiring harness... This is the metal 'strap' that was crimped around the engine harness' wiring branch to the alternator that bolted to the rear of the alternator to strain relieve the harness from shock/vibration.
They come with fresh/new reproduction engine harness assy's but I know of NOBODY who sells the part stand-alone. The best bets for finding one is to pirate one from a Corvette shop/scrap yard that maintains a 'misc' wiring harness pile.
The bracket WAS used on other Chevy vehicles but not on ALL cars/trucks from the era. I've found them on step vans at scrap yards and it seems they're 'popular' parts. I can't say why Corvettes tend to 'lose' their original alt wiring brackets, but they apparently do. The part looks like this:- Top
