C-1 1958 Horn Repair

Hi all, I just top flighted my 58 on May 15/2010 and and 4 weeks later had an accident. The front was hit pretty bad. I have 2 questions.

1) my original horn - the bell has broke and been crushed, who can fix pot metal or repair this very rare item?

2) the windshield needs to be replaced. I did not have the correct glass. Would the date code I need to request match the side glass dates or would it be different?

Susan:

I doubt that you'll be able to find someone that can fix a pot metal horn that has been crushed. However, the #351 &#352 horns are reasonably easy to obtain. Watch ebay: they come up often enough.

As to the glass, the dates can be different. However, if your ordering the windshield, you might as well have the company use the same date as the side glass.

Susan - Check with Joe Perri (corvetteillinois@comcast.net) on the horn repair(s). If he can't repair the casting he probably has used pieces to rebuild yours if they are rebuildable. Pete
