1967 L79 rear spring issue and question

My '67 L79 roadster sits low in the rear. I've looked at the spring and it has a slight reverse arch past a horizontal position. I've checked the archives and the posts there seem to have gotten some good results to leveling the car by installing new spring cushions. The cushions on this spring do seem to be compressed quite a bit. I plan to replace all four of them and see if the car sits properly. If it doesn't, I guess I'll be looking at replacing the rear spring since it does has a very slight reverse arch. My question is this: what is the correct length for the outer spring bolts and should they be of the castle nut/cotter pin design? I think someone may have replaced the spring bolts in this car since the nut on the bolts are not castle nut design and there is no hole in the bolt for a cotter pin. Any insight from the members is, as always, appreciated greatly. Thank you.

Re: 1967 L79 rear spring issue and question

A second search through the archives with a different search heading located the correct length information for the rear spring bolts and part numbers they were available under from GM. I'm going to check and see if the numbers are still valid GM part numbers. Input from the members on this subject is no longer necessary as the archives were very helpful. Thanks again.

Joe..It's a common practice to change the length of the bolts to adjust the rear height of the car. That spring can be rearched and reused especially if it's an original...Bill
