Re: Black 69 L88 Convert for sale
This is at least the fourth L88, which I'm aware of, to be offered at public auction since May. One a Dana Mecum's Indianapolis Auction in May and two offered at RM's San Diego auction in June.
The current bid of $225,300, I believe to be very far short of the reserve. It will be interesting to watch this auction, for its remaining 3days and 19 hours.
While I personally question the validity of ebay auctions for very special high-end vehicles, it is a very efficient way to announce to the world market the availability of the car being offered for sale.
Best wishes to the bidders and the seller.

No where does it say it has a Bloomington Gold, and you can lose 280 points and get a top flight. Also, the more I look at that tank sticker and compare it to an original I have in my grubby little paws, VIN is not far apart and options are mostly the same, I am not sure about the originality of it. In fact, I would bet a case of yer favorite beer that the tank sticker is memorexLast edited by Dick W.; July 25, 2010, 09:20 PM.Dick Whittington- Top

Thanks, Tom, for giving us the updates. Most of us are interested in the value health of our hobby, as well as our love of preserving the cars.
By the way, I want to salute you concerning another thread you started, not long ago.
On your thread about Zora's home, you mentioned filling up with high octane fuel and driving over to see Zora's former home. You gave us some great photos, with your car appropriately in the shots.
I salute you for keeping that gorgeous L88 of yours on the road. By doing so, you give literally, thousands of auto enthusiasts the chance to see one of these on the road, ...once again. They truly are an American treasure, that should be shared with the public.
A couple of years ago, I met another L88 owner with a very rare example of this low-production Corvette... known widely in the hobby.
While admiring his beautiful car, I asked him if he drove it often. All I could think of, is what it would be like to run that baby down the road...
He shrieked at me, "of course not!",.... "this is an XXXX mileage L88!".
Thank you for sharing your gorgeous car.....Good carburetion is fuelish hot air . . .- Top
