Re: 1965 rocker moldings
While it CAN be done, mon, when you see the cost I'll bet you FREAK and decide to simply use service replacement/reproduction moldings!
Search the archives and you'll find several prior threads on the issue...- Top

Re: 1965 rocker moldings
I'm reviving this thread as I'm in the same boat as the OP. What did you decide to do Ralph? I searched the subject and came to the conclusion that's best to repair/replate the originals if possible. The only question is who/where? The imported/reproduction ones are supposed to be very poor. I talked to Paragon about them and was told they would only put them on a "driver" but not on anything that would ever be judged or shown. They also charge a 30% return fee if you don't like them. What are the opinions of those that have seen the imported ones?- Top

Re: 1965 rocker moldings
I have had this service done to my original 65 rocker panels and am very satisfied with the results. I had them completed in two steps. First, had one plater remove old anodizing, remove all road rash, minor imperfections, and complete with a high polish of the panels. The next plater bright dip anodized the panels. There are not many platers that perform this anodizing because of the harsh chemicals required for this process. The total time from start to finish was 3 weeks and a cost of $400.00 for the first plater and $200.00 for the bright dip anodizing. A little high for this, but, I have my original rocker panels back on the car and will judge very well.- Top
