    Wells V175 voltage regulator

I know its not correct, but has anyone used a Wells V175 electronic voltage regulator with the bigger alternators that came on AC cars? I was about to buy one at AutoZone, but it said "not with 62 amp alternator." Mine is factory AC with 61 amp alternator. Will it work?As an alternative, does anybody carry old type that has internal adjustment screw/ Some look like original outside but don't have adjustment feature.
    Thanks

Why don't you let Bill Caldwell redo your's in solid state? He advertises in the DriveLine.

William. John Pirkle @ 706-860-9047 can sell you an original 1119515 with the correct date. He does great work and advertises in driveline. He sold me one for $100 and he sets the regulator on a machine. All you do is put it on and your ready to go..Bill

        Bill -

The one you want is the VR715, not a V175. It'll work fine.

          John,
I meant "VR715"-just had a brain freeze. Will it work with the 61 amp alt. I have in this factory AC car even though Wells web site says "except with 62 amp alternator"?Please let me know.
          Thanks,
          Bill

            Bill -

I know several guys who use the Wells regulator with 61-amp alternators with no problems; plug-and-play installation. You can even remove the Wells cover and install the Delco cover if you like.
