The worst case bore measurement was 4.249", just under the lip at top of bore. Thanks for info on file fit rings. I was planning to put the engine back together myself once machinist cleans the block, verifies adequate piston to bore clearance, and hones it. Should I be checking end gap in the unworn portion of bore and what range should I be shooting for? Any tricks to filing them? Steve

the gap will be listed in the ring install instructions that comes with the rings. here is a picture of the ring filer you need
