My 56 (# 2117) was originally a two four, powerglide, parking brake warning, courtesy lights, power top, hard top, heater, radio, windshield washers optioned car.
Enough of the original equipment remains (in some cases all of the original equipment remains) to confirm these options.
Last night, for the first time, I noticed two holes drilled in the top of the firewall on the passenger side. This is original, unmollested fiberglass in this area. The location is precisely where the power window relay would have been mounted.
I cannot find any other indication that this car originally had power windows. The window regulators in the doors are for manual windows.
So, did the factor drill the power top relay holes for all cars, regardless of window type, or is this a reasonably good indication that my car had power windows originally.
I didn't think to check and see if anything had ever been screwed into those holes. I'll do that this evening.
Thoughts?
