    Mid year rear suspension

Why on some midyear Corvettes do
they sit high in the rear? It seems to be on restored cars
    from what I have seen.

    Karl,

Repop rear springs. Both 7 and 9 leaf springs sit high when new

      Karl -

Because many of them have replacement rear springs (from many sources), and few are made properly to provide correct original ride height using the original spring end link bolts.

I'm looking at a 65 coupe that is sitting up in the rear about
3 inches, how easily is it fixed?
        Thanks

The ride height is controlled by the spring, the bushings and the bolts that connect the spring to the frame. The most likely cause for the ride height being too high is an incorrect spring. It is difficult but not impossible to locate an original spring in good condition. There are also some vendors that make a spring very close but not exactly the same as the original. It is not a very difficult job to change out the spring and the springs are not that expensive under $200. With a correct spring and bolts the ride height should be correct.

Some spring shops have the capability to recamber (de-arch) the rear spring that is in the car now. This will drop the rear end and you don't have to buy a new spring.

Many mid-years have weak front springs
