69 fm radio hanging card question

How does this mount? It did'nt come with a string and the card will bend if i place it between the tone/balance knob and the tuner knob. My guess is It came with a string and tied over stem between these 2 knobs.

When I bought my 1969 Corvette with U69/U79 there was no tag on the radio. Maybe mine was the only 1969 that came without a radio tag, though.
