    68 Engine Compartment Paint/finishes

I'm detailing my engine compartment on my 68 roadster, 327/300, auto, ac.
What is the correct color/finish for the following?:

    1. Ignition coil bracket and bolts to intake manifold
    2. Vacuum fitting in intake manifold (behind carb)
    3. Oil filler tube and cap
    4. Distributor hold down clamp and bolt

    any pics would be great!
    thanks
    Fred

    1. Ing. coil bracket was galvinized
    2. vaccum fitting is zinc plated
3.oil filler tube and cap?- I thought that there was just a fill cap on cover, maybe very early car?
4.dist clamp and bolt, painted engine orange.

This is a 68 with the 327 engine. They have a 6 inch or so angled filler tube just in front of the intake manifold. On my 63 this is painted semigloss black, while the rest of the engine is orange. On the 68 I think the filler tube may also be orange, but not sure. It has a metal cap that appears unpainted currently.
Also, others have said the dist clamp is unpainted??
      Thanks
      Fred

Fred maybe someone else will ring in, does the judging manuel detail these for you?

          I don't know
I just bought Nolan Adams book and the NCRS TEch info manual/judging guide for my 63, but haven't yet got them for my 68.

My original owner 68 327/350hp convertible has an orange oil filler tube with a chrome cap. Since the 350 hp engine also had chrome valve covers I assume this was a matching thing. I believe the 300HP engine has all these things painted orange.

Frederick the bolts holding down the coil bracket the bolt that is on top of the slotted side of the bracket is painted engine color. The other bolt have seen Cad plated and natural. The distributor bolt natural and blackened finish the clamp natural.
