On my 89 I'm debating on whether to buy new seats or have the old ones re-covered or leave alone since they are original and the wear isnt all that bad.. some spots on the kidney wraps is the worst part... Perhaps some matching stain?? So,, my question is for judging top flight, which is best for points?? keeping original with some wear or brand new seats but not original,, (color would be tho),,, thanks df

Re: Point loss for wear or non-original?
Doug, From a judging stand point. you would get all the originality points, and lose some condition points for wear and tear, replacement seat covers if exactly as the originals would not receive any deducts, but Im not a C4 judge.and don't know just how close the reproductions are. If not you will recieve a 20% point deduct on configuration( not typical factory production).and you will receive all condition points. to get the exact point value you'll need the judging papers on interior.
I would say originals covers would out way the condition points any time if the repro,s are not quite there yet.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
