Second question on the 72LT-1.This car shows no sign of ever having a fuel vapor return line from the tank to fuel pump. All the holding clips on the frame look to be untouched originals. The fuel pump is not original. The assy. manual shows the vapor line. Any idea why its not there?

Where in the AIM are you seeing a vapor return line for the LT-1? Surely NOT in the LT-1 section.Last edited by Terry M.; July 4, 2010, 11:47 PM.Terry- Top

Re: 72 LT-1 fuel lines
Agree! The key is Holley vs. Rochester/Carter QJet carb use. There wasn't a provision for fuel line return on Holley carb equipped cars in that era.
Even in earlier years, savvy judges use the presence of reminants of a fuel return line to detect 390 HP BB cars that have been 'converted' to tri-power BB configuration...- Top

This fuel vapor return line is not as simple as Holley or non-Holley. The 1971 LS6 (and ZR2) used a Holley and a fuel vapor return line. LT1 and ZR1) (any of the three years it was available did not.Terry- Top
