    1995 Lt1-upper Radiator Hose

Need some help for a survey that I am doing. What I need is the number and alpha characters off of any original 1995 LT1 upper radiator hose that you have access to at this time. In relation to this request, if you have your build sheet, what is the alpha character in block 45 and the number in block 46.

There appears to be a difference in the GM Parts Book/NCRS Judging Manual and actual numbers on 1995 LT1's.

I am attaching a photo of my upper radiator hose. This number does not appear in any publication, but the alpha characters are the same on my build sheet. The previous owners stated that the original hoses were never changed. Your will note that it appears that the clamp has been reset. When the Corvette had 9,000 miles on it (Now 27,000) the guts of the water pump were replaced. The original housing remains.

    Any help would be appreciated.
You can also email me off net at fulassoc@comcast.net.

    Thanks

GM #10262508 was the radiator hose used in PRODUCTION and once available in SERVICE for 1995 Corvettes with LT1. It was discontinued from SERVICE in October, 1995 and replaced by the 1996 LT1 hose, GM #10278338. The latter remains available to this very day.

Joe, thanks for your response. I have four build sheets for various 95's and they all have the alpha character of MUW.
I just needed some input from someone that my upper hose had an original number.
As I stated that hose number,10262508, is not in the 1995 dated version of he GM parts book, nor the NCRS Judging Manual. I had my 95 Top Flighted in March of this year and took a deduct on the hose. The judges were very understanding of my presentation that it was original but no where could WE find any reference to that number, be it in the GM Parts Book or the Judging Manual.

      Thanks again.

I don't know where you found a 1995-dated edition of a GM parts book. 1993 was the last year that GM offered a printed version of the catalog. From 1994-onward, only microfiche and electronic versions of the catalogs were available. I suppose it's possible that some printed versions continued for dealer distribution for awhile after 1993 but not to my knowledge.

I can tell you, for sure, that the 10262508 was included in those 1995 versions of the catalog. However, it was only included for 1995 model year catalogs from October, 1994 through October, 1995. The part number did not exist in the system prior to October, 1994 and was gone after October, 1995.

          Charlie,

I have the exact same codes as you for my 95, both on my build sheet and on the hose itself.

            Re: 1995 Lt1-upper Radiator Hose

Joe, thanks for the response. I may have been mistaken about the date of the parts book.
In looking at the introduction page it states "Chevrolet-1984-1996
            Parts and Illustration Catalog-"
On the bottom of the page it states @2000 GM Service Parts Operations.

What may have happened it that someone copied the electronic version.

Since this is a 1983-1996 version, I can see why the upper radiator hose that I have is not listed based upon your information. The alpha character on the hose was MUW. As I stated before, I have three additional build sheets with the upper radiator hose having a MUW as an identifier.

I also want to thank you Richard for you input, you make number four that has this upper radiator hose. This hose appears to be a short run of one year. My Corvette was made the second day of production and I have a build sheet from the middle of the model year with a MUW on the build sheet.

Since this Catalog goes to 1996, the MUW hose was deleted.

Joe would you please contact me at fulassoc@comcast.net and I will provide you some copies of the Parts Catalog. The example I have it too large for this forum.

Gentlemen, thanks for all your input. The Judging Manual will have to have a little tweaking.

              Re: 1995 Lt1-upper Radiator Hose

Hey guys, I know this is an old post, but I came across it and found it interesting. I recently got my Top Flight in Florida, but I too got a deduction for my top hose and have the 10262508 original hose. The judge told me that it was not the original one. Mine is a 1995 and my build sheet also states MUW. I'm a little confused. So I guess the manual never got tweaked.

              Any help would be appreciated.

                Re: 1995 Lt1-upper Radiator Hose

Ed, I guess the 94-96 Judging Manual has not been updated.

I personally gave the changes to the Judges at Kissimmee in 2010.

If you can, get a mirror and look under the hose and maybe you can find a date code. The date code is imprinted on the hose.

What is the build date of your Corvette?

I am attaching a couple of photos of the date code, hose and build sheet concerning my upper hose.

I would not change the hose.

Thanks Charlie. I'll look at the bottom of the hose and let you know. My build date of my car is 11/1/94.
