    63 Coupe Left Door Part # ?

Can anyone tell me what the part number is for the left side door on a 63 Corvette coupe? Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    P.

    Peter -

The raw door (no hardware) was built up in the plant from 38 separate parts - Service carried the left '64-'67 coupe door assembly under P/N 3912055, but there's no listing for '63 coupe doors in my July, 1973 P&A 30B. Maybe someone else has an earlier P&A with a '63 part number.

Thanks, John. I appreciate your quick response.

I have been told that the 63 door is a unique door. I do not know if this it true or not. It seems to me that the 63-67 coupe doors would all be interchangeable, but I have been told that this is not so. I don't know what is right.

In the mean time, can you suggest where I might locate a left side door for a 63 coupe? Any suggestions will be a great help.

      Thanks,

      P.

63 coupe door is not identical to the 64-7 doors in that the 63 coupe door had stainless trim just ahead of the vent window. the 64-7 didn't. also the 63 to mid-64 door handle/fiberglass interface differs from the 2nd desing door fiberglass.mike

Thanks, Mike. Your detailed comments support the general information I have discovered.

Can you suggest anyone who might have a 63 coupe door available?

I'm not certain, but isn't the configuration of the bolts on the door side also different for '63 when compared to a '65 or '66?

The 1963 coupe doors were different than 64-67, although the 1963 convertible doors are interchangeable with 64-67 (although not necessarily identical).

The part number for the 1963 left side coupe door was GM #3830735. That part was discontinued without supercession in June, 1971. The chances that you'd find an NOS door under that part number are about as slim as anything could possibly be.

Peter, Not really a needle in a haystack. Your door is easy to spot in the fleas. You most likely will see one for sell at Corvette Carlisle. Raised door handle area is one tip. Molding info as mentioned above is another.
As far as finding a NOS forget it. The horders that have them would sooner leave the planet that part with them. Not thinking of the guy on the east coast though. You know who you are.

See Andy Cannizzo for a used door. JD

Looking in the 63 aims shows the make up of the door in a zillion pieces. Couldn't find Joe's part number in the aims. Feel sure he got it from his old parts books.

You won't find this part number in any AIM. That's because, in PRODUCTION, the doors were built up from the individual components and were not supplied to the assembly line as an assembly. The part number I provided is the ASSEMBLY, although not a complete assembly including interior panels.

I've always been curious as to where these SERVICE door
assemblies were manufactured. It MIGHT have been St. Louis.
