    RIP: George Moore Chevrolet

Sadly, another Chevy dealer bites the dust.

I really hate to see them go. This was a small dealer in Jacksonville Beach, FL. that specialized in Corvette sales. They even incorporated the Corvette crossed flags into their dealership logo. They were only a couple of miles from my house and the parts dept. staff were a great group of people. They always had the patience to search the catalogs for my 48 cent nut and get it for me. I can't imagine any of the other big dealers in the area spending the time for these nickle and dime sales. On several occasions they simply took me to a room that had bins of nuts, bolts, electrical connector components, etc. and let me take what I needed.

That is a shame. Hate to see good dealers with good people shut down. Hope those good people find dealers to work for in your area and keep the Corvette fire burning down there !!!

Floyd I once lived in a city that had a small dealership and really enjoyed the service from the parts department. They saved the expired Corvette parts catologs for me back in the 80's. No telling what kind of old Corvette parts could be on your dealership shelves. Mayby they will let you check. Where do all those nuts, bolts, and connectors go?

Unfortunately the place is all boarded up already.

Jim, here's the process that was used for the Chrysler dealers shut down that my son was involved with. Parts that would be accepted back by the manufacturer were returned for credit. Remaining parts were offered to other dealers. Auction was held to sell off the remaining parts, tools and supplies etc. Anything left was bid on by scrap dealers. Gary....
