Finish on 63 lower spark plug shields?

I've seen various finishes on the lower "v" shaped spark plug shields: heavy chrome, zinc, chrome flash. Anybody know what a November 62 car should have?

    Thanks
    Mike

Michael, Do you mean the U shaped shields that go over the spark plugs-two at a time?
The ones on my Feb/Mar 63 were zinc cad plated. JD

Hi John, the shields I'm talking about are lower than those, they are actually the ones that shield the plug wires, just before they go under the motor mount.

      Thanks
      Mike

low grade flash chrome with cad/zinc plating on the mounting reinforcements, rivited on with plain steel rivets

Jeez Bill, I don't have that combination on either of my cars. At least my mounting reinforcements are correct. Thanks

I'm making an assumption that the mounting arms were treated with some kind of preservative, and that could have been a phosphate or tin or zinc. I don't have a print, but I've owned several with no rust on the mounting arms, maybe they are plain steel and the valve cover leakage keeps them from rusting??

I have several originals and some NOS (er replacements from the 70's) and originals are chrome with zinc brackets. Replacements are 100% zinc plated.

Thanks guys, One of my cars has zinc shields, the other chrome. It looks like zinc on all mounting arms. The rivets aren't plated or rusty on the chrome shields, they may be stainless or aluminum, I doubt they're plain steel . The rivets are zinc plated steel on the other car, probably were plated with the shields.

Michael, So once again we are on different pages. Now Michael both of us need to learn how to post nice pics here. (yes I know)
Aims: U65 Sheet 9.00 Radio-spark plug shields LH. (page C357 in Drafting Graphics.)
                  3. 3819763 shield-spark plug-appears to be the u shaped part you are referring to. Plating not mentioned.
                  4. 3819765 support that Clupper mentioned. Held on with nice rivet. Support was zincad. The boobarang part (better description Michael that V shaped. hahaha) The boobarang part is crappy chrome.
All the shielding on my 63, the LWC is original(came with the car) with the exception of the long one piece job on passenger side. My original is buried up in the attic and is all pitted. McFast bought me an original at CC two years ago and I had it flash chromed. So therefore JHR All my shielding is original.
