Bend Oregon Regional Room Rates

Two weeks ago my good friend called the Inn of the Seventh Mountain to make room reservations for the August Regional. To his surprise and shock, the only rooms available were $320 a night! He informed the reservations clerk about being part of the NCRS party with rooms blocked until mid July and they said that they have two events running the same time and that was the price. We are now staying 1 1/2 miles down the road and this will most likely be our last trip to Bend. Anyone else experience this?

We got a room one week ago $149.00 for two . We'll be driving up the day before it starts ,have to check with my wife the date. We're near Sacramento driving our 55 , how about meeting up if that day works with you. E-mail me I think it's two bed rooms ??

As Vinnie and Roy have experienced, it is important to talk with one of the staff members that know what's happening. Unless someone has the need for a huge room / suite, the prices shouldn't be that high. As of noon today June 30, the Seventh Mountain Resort has 3 studios (109.00) and 8 one bedrooms (149.00) left in the NCRS block of rooms. The staff that handles this is on duty from 10am to 6pm PDT so if you call at other hours, there may be some confusion. The block will be released on July 19 so don't wait too long. Regards,

Thank you for your response. It just goes to show you what happens when you assume reservations staff know their job especially when you identify the event you are attending and ask them to double check rates. I did receive a nice call from the reservations event person, Sharon, today who verified the rates you were quoted. She also apologized for the misinformation her reservations clerk gave. I passed all of this on to my friend who is going to call tomorrow and work out new reservation details with Sharon. Interestingly the clerk who quoted the $320 rate is who recommended the other hotel.

Just another update for all that are considering attending the NW Regional at Bend OR, there are still 3 studios @ $109 US NCRS rate, and 7 one-bedroom condos @ $ 149; as of 11am Friday 2nd July -- looks like I'm going after all

My favorite site for a Regional. Unfortunately I am unable to attend this year. EVERYONE needs to go to a Regional there. Beautiful scenery, chapter takes excellent care of registrants, good food, good friends, and good times.

I agree Dick. I can't make it either this year. Hope to go to New Mexico Sept 30- Oct 1.

BEND is one of the best, especially the 1982 and 1984 Regional and National.
