    1972 Vapor Canister (charcoal)

I am looking for a vapor recovery (from fuel tank) canister. The one I have has a broken vacumn line fitting rendering it unusable. Anyone know where I can get one? Zip tells me they won't have new (repo) ones untill mid August.
Thanks for any help -- Rey

Isn't this part the same as used on other Chevy passenger cars of the era? If so, why not visit your local scrap yard and find a decent used one. Should be a $5-10 item...

      Rey

I have the original I removed from my 72. It is all intact, no broken nipples etc. I am very sure it is okay - may need the charcoal changed, but it was working just fine when on the car.

You are welcome to it - it is just laying in my basement.

I will be back home the week after thr 4th July - just send me your address and I be happy to send it.
It will probably run 10$ to ship it - you can send $$$ to my paypal account or mail a check.

Just let me know if this works for you.

The charcoal canisters were made in many different configerations so make sure you get the correct number of ports for the hoses.

The charcoal, theoretically, lasts indefinitely. The only serviceable item is the cloth filter screen on the bottom of the VRS can...

Dr. Rebuild had one for me a couple of years ago when I needed one for mine.
            It's a good life!
