    1968 Radio Buttons

Does anyone know where I can get a set of radio buttons (restored or NOS) for a 68?

      Jack,

I would say buttons. The buttons you set the stations with, underneath the AM/FM numbers.

          Alan------

I think your best bet is going to be finding a good used radio, either working or non-working (cheaper), and use it as a donor for the parts you need. These buttons are not reproduced as far as I know. You could also contact one of the Corvette radio repair outfits like D&M Corvette, Corvette Clocks By Roger, The Wonderbar Man, or United Radio in Syracuse, NY and see if they would sell you parts from used radios they have in stock.

The complete button assembly was GM #1221817 and the individual buttons were GM #7803280. However, your chances of finding these in NOS form are probably about as good as the people in hell getting icewater.

            Alan,

In January, I sent the radio from my '71 to Greg Thompson at S&M electro-tech in MN(763-780-2861) to get it repaired. He offered to get the push buttons rechromed at around $7.00 per button. Radio came back and the buttons look great. I definately recommend his service.

Corvette Clocks by Roger is where I had my it radios restored per NCRS quide-lines. I live and Syracuse and United Radio i the first place I tried. When I wanted to get my original 68 radio restored for my 68, they could not help me, simple due to they did not have the correct original parts I wanted. This was a year ago, this does not mean that can help you now though. I have had Clocks by Roger restore 3 original clocks and three original radios for my vette and the work and turn-a-round time was excellent. Hope this helps. Jeff
