    exhaust trouble 64 300hp prowerglide

Bought new exhaust system; hangers, clamps, pipes with welded mufflers, right(drivers) side went well. Left side tail pipe has a extra bend about 2' from center cross member and this brings the muffler to clost to rear fender and also muffler hits the rear exhaust valance. Hoping someone else with a 64 SB (300hp) powerglide can check theirs and let me know if this bend is correct for judging, the exhaust people say it is correct, but all the books I can find don't show this . I put my old pipe on and line up is much better, but win't judge Thanks guys Wayne 94970

Wayne, the little room for era in the C2/C3 exh. systems If the system has been welded 1 degree off, or a incorrect bend nothing will line up properly.
Loosen The clamp at cross member and the front pipe nuts and let system hang loosely and have a helper hold the system as it be in align.and try to tighten just maybe you'll get lucky.
