67 390hp (+) battery cable routing

Hello,

On '67 bigblock cars, specifically a 390HP w/o ac, does the positive cable run up through the heat shield or is it routed on the outside?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cabling is outside of the heat shield thru clip on firewall below heater box and then under starter solenoid clip to terminal on solenoid
