Gentlemen
We just finished my black 57 and found the paint on the hood started to bubble in the 100 degree Houston heat after I stopped the hot engine and the car was setting in the bright sun. I had this same problem before with some of the earlier paint jobs on the car.
We used feather fill and a utherane paint this time. I am thinking I need to grind off the top resin and put the bare hood out in the sun for a week to bake out the chemicals that are activating and then go back with some kind of resin before starting the paint process again.
The car has been stripped and painted several times over the years.
