While the seller says this fan is applicable to 70-74, it's not. This fan is applicable only to 1970 Corvettes with LS-5 and C-60. In fact, in PRODUCTION it was used only for late 1970 LS-5 with C-60. Not only is it incorrect for 1971-74, it will not fit the fan clutches used for those years. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Tipped fan blade on eBay
Interesting and thanks. I didn't have the two part numbers in front of me, just saw the listing and posted it in case there was an interest here for it. I assumed the D72 was April 1972. Could the seller have misread the date and should be D70? Thank goodness I have a correct one on my '70.

The date could well be D72, representing April, 1972. However, that means this was a SERVICE piece that was never originally installed on a car in PRODUCTION. The GM #3993889 was available in SERVICE until September, 1984 and was probably being manufactured until a year or two prior to that time.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
