On my '61 I have been told by judges that I need to change the intake gaskets to ones with GM tabs. Where are these tabs located? Is the GM easily readable? I ordered what I thought was the correct ones from Paragon, but I find no GM stamp.

Re: '61 Intake gasket
There are two locations where the GM is molded into the seals, at the rear on the square tab that is relatively easily seen and on a small "bump-out" on the front seal, less easily seen. I'll try to upload a picture ot two, but getting a picture of them is not easy. A raised black letter set on a black background... but attached is one on a car, and one by itself, only the rears are shown as they are the easiest to see.Attached FilesBill Clupper #618- Top

Re: '61 Intake gasket
Richard, When re-restoring my 63 FI car we ran into the same thing.
Like mentioned above there are no correct repros.
NOS is the only answer. Now you can massage the repro long gaskets by reworking the camel hump (as taught to me by the farmer in MD lol)
But you are gonna have to come up with nice NOS real deal end seals. Several variations in these end seals. Especially the front seal.
The GM logo comes in at least two sizes. The area around the oil filler tube comes in at least two variations. Good luck, JD- Top
