I was watching that auction too. The writing on my air cleaner lid looks different than the one in the auction.- Top

To me the writing looks identical to a Paragon reproduction that I "used to have" past tense because the writing was not as the originals.
The text you show Scott looks like one original that I have. Thicker chunkier letters.
One thing about those auctions with distant photos is the inability to see the text exactly.- Top

On the air cleaner lid I have, that horizontal line on either side of the word "NOTICE" only extends to the "O" in "POSITIVE" and to the "O" in "VENTILATION".

AC lid reproduction? - $1165; IMHO it's a Paragon repro
That's a Paragon reproduction for certain.

I agree it looks like $65 Paragon part. I cleaned up and old original and the line is like the one that sold. Perhaps there were multiple silk screens?
Or the length of the bar change from year to year?- Top

John,
I'm sure you are correct that there was more than one GM silk screen. But the text/line layout of the silk screen in the auction lid is identical to the Paragon repro and I've never seen an original GM lid with that same font spacing, circled AC size, line length, etc.

I agree completely - was just pointing out that it's highly unlikely that every original lid had exactly the same silk-screen details when they were made at 1,000+ per hour on multiple lines.- Top
