I usually attend Corvettes at Carlisle in August, but this year I'm also thinking about going to the GM show at the end of this month. Can someone compare the two? I have a couple of Chevys, a 51 and a 56, but I really have little or no interest in seeing thousands of Camaros and nothing else. How about the vendors? Are parts sold much like the Corvette show? I'm sure the great fair food will be the same which is almost reason enough to attend. Any thoughts or comments?

GM carlisle was on of the most disappointing shows i have ever gone to. I swear there were not more than 3 rows of vendors. I traveled from Dutchess county N Y 4 hours never again. I was out of there in less than 2 hours.

Thanks for the input. For me it's about a 10 hour trip each way. Unless I hear many other positive comments I think that I will remain here in Maine and eat lobster that weekend.- Top

Re: Calisle GM versus Corvettes Carlisle
I have shown Camaros at the Camaro natlionals which is held in conjunction with Gm natiuonals. Unless you love Camaros you will be very disapointed in commparison with Corvettes at Carlisle. It don't hold a candle to it.- Top

Re: Calisle GM versus Corvettes Carlisle
I attended the inaugural GM of Carlisle event in June of 2001. It was a big event, I was there for a full 3 days, it reminded me of Corvettes of Carlisle. I had a terrrific time there. There were sections of cars everywhere, Nova's parked in groups, Camaro's, Chevelle's and the other models, like Impala's, Biscaynes, Caprice's, etc., were scattered all over the place. The swap meet was large and the event was HUGE.
I haven't been back, only because I sold both of my '69 Camaros and got back into Corvettes again.- Top
