I was on the Hilton Garden Inn wait-list for a room since March, and they called me Tuesday night and said they now had openings from cancellations. I had already committed to a room at Pheasant Run (non-cancellable) in May, so I thanked them for the call. They may still have openings.

It seems weird to be able to get a room at Pheasant Run where BG is being held but other hotels close by are sold out. It should tell management at Pheasant Run something isn't quite right. John, we had the same experience at Comfort Inn and Suites located a block west of Pheasant Run as you did with the Hilton. We have stayed at the Comfort several years and you couldn't ask for a better group of people or better service. Called the Comfort Inn in January because we forgot to fill out our forms when we left last year but it was sold out. Our group was first on the waiting list. We called Pheasant Run and was able to get 7 rooms. Two weeks ago the Comfort called with rooms but as you mentioned we were locked in at Pheasant Run. Our group has had a couple issues when calling Pheasant Run over confirmations, correct rate, etc. One example was they had I a May 22 deadline for cancellations/changes. We called on that day and they had one person working in reservations and she was leaving early that day. If you missed her you got transfered to someplace in Alabama (I suppose their central reservation center). The people we talked to in Alabama didn't have a clue about the deadline or even knew Pheasanr Run existed. A real cluster****. There were several other instances like names and credit card info screwed up and mismatched. We all have our printouts with confirmations but I'd almost bet check-in will be a nightmare!! I'll apologize in advance for the delay if any of you get "lucky" enough to be behind us at check-in. They almost cop the same attitude as many others in St. Charles do about Bloomington Gold and Corvette owners. You would think most places would "die" for the chance at the revenue BG generates in those 4 days to it's economy!!

We have been staying at Marriotts Towne Place Suites in Elgin for the past few years. A pleasant 10 mile drive from St. Charles.
Great place for $76.00 per night.

We had stayed at the Country Inn Suites since the show moved to St. Charles. The staff was real nice, rooms were good, and the price was fair. They even put up with our parking lot antics (late nights). Last year, the price went UP, no more trailers ( I had a car for Benchmark judging), and no good reason. We moved to the Holiday Inn ( a little further west) and I must say, it was a good move. The only drawback, we miss the people who always stayed at the old motel. Great group!

It seems to me, this show now brings out a whole new set of rules on rates and reservations ( kinda like Power Tour). I hope the locals and the corporates don't ruin it. I have been going to that show since 1990. It's become a family tradition and a great venue.
