Convertible Top Window Protection Fabric

I have finished the restoration on the 57 Corvette that I have owned for last 49 years.
I need some guidance on where the convertible top window protection fabric should be located. I think it starts at the rear edge of the gas tank cover panel where it would cover the screw heads. I don't know how far forward it would be located. I would also like some suggestions on what kind of glue to use and any special technique that someone has developed.
