Re: 1966 BB Fan Shroud Configuration
Hey guys, I found this detail from the archives thanks to Joe Lucia.
The GM #3935571 and 395572 are part numbers for components of the 1968 radiator shroud assembly used for 1968 big blocks (except L-88) and some 1968 small blocks. These components were never used for any 1967 radiator shroud assembly.
The ORIGINAL 1966-67 big block shrouds were never available from GM as an assembly. They were available only as component pieces.
The 1968 shroud was never available in SERVICE as component pieces. It was available only as a complete assembly under GM #3938940. This shroud was the SERVICE shroud assembly for 1968 applications with copper/brass radiator. It later became the SERVICE shroud assembly for 1966-67 Corvettes with big block (except L-88) when the component pieces of those shrouds were discontinued from SERVICE.
A shroud containing the 3 pieces that you mentioned is very likely the GM #3938940 SERVICE shroud assembly. It was GM-discontinued several years ago.
So that this says is the shroud with complete DS and 1967 part numbers is of a vintage no later that 1967.
That shroud has both the RH angle cut and notches.
