Sorry to ask such a simple question, I guess I should know, but what month do the new cars release in the states? My car was (1961 10867S109538) was supposedly built on this day(14 June ). I've always been told it is a late '61. I suspect it was June 14 1961 and that 1962 models were available a few months later in 1961- is that the case? thanks for enlighting me. Richard

1961 model Corvettes were built until about mid-July, 1961. 1962 production began sometime in August, 1961.

Without doing the math, your June 14 date has to be dammed close. They did '61s long enough in July to do 779 cars.
