    Bloomington Gold First Time

Going to Bloomington Gold for the first time to learn.
Closed minded me only wants to learn and see c1 57's.
Any suggestions on what and how to do to make to most of my learning?

Thank you all for the info

    Alan,

I do not have the list of what cars are there for that model year with regard to judging either Survivor or Certification. You may have zero, you may have several. As a result your learning opportunity there may be variable.

You may have more luck looking in the for sale area, auction area and swap meet area than you will on the field. Or, you might not. Every year is different.

      Alan,
Check the times for judging. Thursday morning they will start Survivor Judging and then on Friday judging for Gold Certificate starts and runs into Saturday. During this time just as with NCRS all judged cars will have to stay in the judging field so you should be able to check them all out. Also like NCRS just don't disrupt the judging. Also there will be cars for sale by owner in the Goldmine. The Goldmarket is the swap area where you will find several NCRS members selling/swapping/partying/and some BSing going on!! Speaking of NCRS, don't forget to stop by the tent and say hi to whoever is manning the tent. On Friday the Mecum Auction starts up also. There is usually some special collections around just to the East of the auction area. Tons and tons of every year/style/color Corvette parked on the golf course to check out so bring your walking shoes.
      Take care,
      Shooter

        Hi, Alan --

My first time, too! My first time for ANY Corvette event as I've only owned mine since last October.

Any chance you're planning on driving your '57? I'm enrolled in the '66 GoldSchool and was thinking of driving mine out, but I'm a little nervous about it .

Strength in numbers -- I'm guessing I won't be the only worried owner present that day.

          Hello Andrew

Glad to see you as a corvette owner!
I think it would be great to see you drive it. As for my father's 57 we are 2 weeks away from paint on the body. Dad had a few set backs, vet went on the back burner for a couple months.
Dad was going to drive it out but it looks like he will be driving it to PA.

Thank you all for the info.

Not driving a corvette is like having the most beautiful women in the world and you can't take her dancing.

Enjoy and hope to see you all!

          Alan

I always used to like going over to the "current year" and watching the 2010 owner be nervous about the result - worst thing possible would be to blow a fuse, for god's sake.
Thinking about it, I did screw up. I should have gathered their names up and put them on my Wikeup AZ Ocean Marina Investor's List. If they'd pay Dave Burroughs to tell them that they had a new car, the Marina would be golden.

              Hi Alan,
              Unfortunately there won't be any 57s being judged this year. At least 2 58s, 3, 592, and 5, 60's., but no 57s.
              Have fun.
              John
