Initial setting for Holley carb accelerator pump screw... '66 L72

Could anyone tell me what the initial setting for the accelerator pump arm adjusting screw should be set at for a factory spec '66 L72 3247 carburetor rebuild? Can only find jet and float settings, nothing on the pump arm.

    Thanks!
    Steve

    Steve -

That adjustment is shown in both the Chassis Service Manual and in the Chassis Overhaul Manual, and is the same for all Holleys. With the throttle lever held wide open (third hand or a stout rubber band) and the pump operating lever depressed, adjust the spring-loaded bolt so you have .015" clearance between the bolt head and the pump lever. That will give you an instantaneous pump shot with the slightest movement of the throttle lever. It MUST be done with the throttle lever at WOT.

Thanks John! I have this 1966-82 shop manual and the only engine they list the spec for is the 70 LT1 (which is the .015 as you stated), and I wasn't sure if that applied across the board for Holleys.

      We got'er now!

      Thanks,
      Steve
