I have recently bought two 57 fuelie's and one has the FUEL INJECTION lettering script on the nose below the circular emblem. I was told that a few from the factory came this way. Is there anyone who knows different or can enlighten me? Thanks Lyle

Re: 1957 Fuel Injection Emblem Front Nose Script
Lyle, some of the old parts books showed the FI emblem under the Corvette emblem on the front but it was cancelled before production. Someone likely saw one of the old books and added it. I know a fellow back in the early 60's who did just that.
What is the VIN of the one with the emblem?

Re: 1957 Fuel Injection Emblem Front Nose Script
As Steve and Tom mentioned GM never put the FI script on the nose on any production 1957 Corvettes.
Some books have pictures of a Corvette with the emblem on the front but again it was never done in production. See Ken Kaysers FI book pg. 152 for a picture and info. Also check Noland Adams Tech & Restoration Guide page 173 for additional info.- Top

Hi Lyle, Only the rich and famous can buy two FI cars at once. By now most 57's are FI cars you know.
Did you get the judging manual yet? You would also enjoy "The History of GMs Ramjoet Fuel Injection on the Chev V8 And It's Corvette...." by Kenneth W. Kayser. Best book ever written on this subject. Highly unlikely anyone will ever match it.
Tachometer Press. Kenny mentions the emblem and shows a Chevrolet Engineering pic on page 152. "Chevrolet Engineering eliminates the Fuel Injection emblem from above the front grille opening ass too costly".
Too costly refers to much more than the cheap emblem. Inventory of an additional front hoood surround was probably the biggest reason.
Guys and Girls of NCRS. Lyle Davidson is but a young man of 37 and his enthusiam for FI's and C1's is amazing. He is a rare breed today. Lyle keep up the good work. JD- Top
