    Rochester

This question is for Joe L. I have a Rochester Quadrajet carb. The number is 17053204, under that is 30 (with a slight space) 8. It then has a BHTafter the 308. What does this fit and what is the date code? Anyone? Thank you Dale

I don't have a reference for that number. I do know that there was never a carburetor available in SERVICE under this part number. However, that doesn't mean you couldn't buy this carburetor in SERVICE. It just means that the SERVICE part number was different than the on-carburetor part number. That severely complicates my ability to ID it. Based upon the part number, I would say that the carburetor's release date (not manufacturing date) was sometime around 1975.

Maybe clem or someone else can ID it.

I googled it and could not find anything. I think I got it for my Nordic boat with a 455 Olds engine, but it has an electric choke and my boat does not. Hmmmm. Thank you Dale

Q jets for boat engines do not have a fast idle cam because you can use the hand throttle to set the idle. also olds engines would have the fuel line coming straight in the front of the carb where a chevy comes in at a right angle

Clem, The fuel inlet on this Q-jet lays side ways across the front of the carb and the opening for the fuel line faces the passenger inner fender panel (passenger side). It has a fast idle cam. I will try and post a picture. Dale
