67 AO Smith Bodies - Hood Channel Rivets

I need everyone who has a 1967 AO Smith body to check something for me. Please pop the hood and check the two harness clips that are mounted towards the firewall on each side of the car. Someone told me that all AO Smith cars had these clips bonded in place rather than riveted. I clearly have an AO Smith body, but my clips are riveted. Can we confirm whether this statement is true or not? Thanks.

Not true. Typical factory production is riveted clips, although some may have been bonded.

Thanks John, I thought my front clip was original. I have a damaged pass side front fender that was sistered to the original about 1/2 way back, but I was pretty sure the rest of the front of the car was good. Interesting how these things get tossed around like gospel!

63s were bonded up to a point and maybe even some 64s. I have also run into a few 65s that were bonded, but I don't think I have seen any 67s that were.
