74' Distributor Shaft Part Number and Source

I need to replace the main distributor shaft and the tach driven gear in my P/N 1112247 distributor removed from my L48 74'. My concern is in getting the proper main shaft configuration. I understand many different shaft configurations were used over the years (perhaps 38) with the primary differences being the cam shape on the end of the shaft. Most of the common repair parts sources sell one or perhaps two different main shafts.
    Questions:
    1. Can anyone tell me the GM part number of the main shaft used in my 1112247 distributor?
    2. Can anyone tell me where I could purchase the correct replacement shaft or does someone know that the shafts for sale by one of the common repair parts sources are of the configuration I need?

The part number for the shaft was GM #1851624. However, it's long-since GM discontinued and it will be tough to find. You MIGHT find one on eBay.

However, you have a good option. Buy a generic shaft and have the cam from your shaft transferred to it. If you can't do it, I'm sure that someone like Dave Fiedler at TI Specialties could do it for you. He could probably also supply the generic shaft.

Transfer the cam to the generic shaft and you've got just about as good as NOS.
