Need Advice: Wiper Door Fastener Finishes

I'm assembling the wiper door mechanism on a newly painted '68 convertible and have a question:

Are the 4 wiper door hinge bolts and the 8 wiper door grill screws supposed to be painted the body color? The new shoulderd bolts look like they are zinc and the new screws have a semi-gloss black finish.

No paint on the bolts or screws. The screws are black oxide , fillister-head cross recess machine screws and the bolts are natural (zinc?).
