    63 Idler pulley comparison

I have two Idler Pulleys for an early 63 L84 engine. One is a repop, the old one is (I think) an original. The differences are:

    1) the rib reinforcing the bend in the bracket is on the inside of the bend on the repop, but on the outside on the other one.

    2) the contour of the bracket edge near the pivot mounting hole is "scalloped" in two places on the old one, while the new one is not scalloped.

    Is the old one original?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Re: 63 Idler pulley comparison

I think I may have answered this myself. The old part I have looks just like the pic at the bottom of page 109 of the fifth edition of the JG, except its got a zinc finish on the pulley. Its from a late November car so that pulley finish is probably correct.

These parts from my Duntov car seem to be as they should be, my other car, not so much. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised....
